MOVERs
MOVERs are Serverclasses. They are processes that read the various product audit
files and generate alerts and/or update the XMA database.
There are three types of MOVERs:
1. Alert-Only, which only generate alerts. They do not update the XMA database.
2. Collect-Only, which only update the XMA database. They do not generate alerts.
3. Regular (combined Alert and Collect), which both generate alerts and update the
XMA database.
There are eight kinds of MOVERs:
1. BASE24 MOVERs, which read the OMF files.
2. EMS MOVERs, which read the EMS logs.
3. The BASE24-eps MOVERs, which read the UALOGD (Use Audit Log) file.
4. HLR MOVERs, which read the HLR/DPA audit data.
5. iTP Secure WebServer MOVERs, which read the Common Log Format files.
6. Measure MOVERs, which read Measure logs.
7. Safeguard MOVERs, which read the Safeguard audit trail.
8. XYGATE MOVERs, which read audit trails created by XYGATE modules.
Refer to Chapter 6, “Configuring MOVERs starting on page 109 for more information.
NEWINST File
The presence of this file in the XMA subvolume acts as a marker to tell
XMA_MANAGER that the SQL environment has not been created. The file is created
by the install process and deleted after XMA_MANAGER is run for the first time and
successfully creates the XMA SQL environment.
NEWTBLS
The NEWTBLS file contains all the parameters used to create the XMA SQL tables,
including the sizing information. If you wish to increase the size of the tables before
you create them for the first time, you can change the appropriate parameters in this
file. Refer to Chapter 8, “Maintaining the XMA Databasestarting on page 145 for
more information.
