Chapter 1. Installing XMA
XYPRO Technology Corporation 21 Proprietary and Confidential
1.5 Upgrade Considerations
If you are upgrading XMA versions prior to 1.95, your Audit Session table will be
updated during the XMA_MANAGER portion of the installation. A new column called
IPADDRV46 will be added to the AUDSESS table to accommodate the longer IPV6
Format Addresses. Going forward, all IP addresses will be placed in this column.
After upgrade, information about legacy IP addresses (that is, those prior to the
upgrade) will not be immediately available in XMA Reports. To make this data
available, a conversion program called CNVRTIP is provided.
1.5.1 Database Conversion Using CNVRTIP
The CNVRTIP conversion program is provided to accommodate longer IPV6 Format
Addresses in the AUDSESS table. The program will move the data from the column
IPADDRESS to the column IPADDRV46. This program cannot be run until after you
complete the upgrade of your XMA installation by running both the initial installation
and the XMA_MANAGER portion of the installation.
Note: CNVRTIP can be run while the XMA pathway movers are running.
SYNTAX:
RUN $<vol>.XYGATEMA.CNVRTIP /out $s.#cnvrt/
If custom Cleanup or Archive parameters (option 17) have been configured via the
Database Management Menu (refer to section 5.5, page 104) within XMA_MANAGER,
the CNVRTIP program will use the Transaction Size, Transaction Timeout, and CPU
busy values you have specified. Otherwise, the program will use the following values:
Transaction Size: 500
Transaction Timeout: 120
CPU Busy Percent: 30
If you have a large database, the conversion will take some time. The results of the
conversion will be output to the spooler location you specify and logged to the
ARCLOG table in the XMADAT subvolume.
Note: Running the conversion will increase the length of each row in the AUDSESS
Table by 46 bytes. Ensure that you have allocated enough space.
1.6 Uninstalling XMA or XTR Using the Auto Uninstall Script
The Auto Uninstall script is designed for an easy removal of the XMA and XTR server
programs, files, and SQL tables. It should only be run if the IWIZARD was run to install
or upgrade the XMA and/or XTR environments and you want to completely remove the
XMA and XTR environments.
