XYGATE User Authentication (XUA) Architecture
XUA is a SEEP process that works closely with the Safeguard process $ZSMP. As
shown in the diagram, when logon requests come from programs such as TACL or
XAC, Safeguard forwards the request to the Authentication SEEP which is XUA.
XUA makes its ruling based on the rules configured in the UACONF and UAACL files.
XUA will also audit its activities to different kinds of audit trails as configured in the
UACONF file.
XUA will forward any password change requests during the logon process to XPQ (if
present), which is a Password Quality program from XYPRO.
XUA will also look up the Safeguard global configuration and use its fields besides
those specified in the UACONF file.
