HP OneView 1.05 Release Notes Abstract This document describes new features, best practices, troubleshooting, and known limitations for HP OneView version 1.05. This release is intended for administrators who install, manage, and troubleshoot HP ProLiant servers, HP Virtual Connect, and storage systems using the HP OneView appliance.

1 Release description and installation instructions 1.1 Introduction This document describes new features, best practices, troubleshooting, and known limitations for HP OneView version 1.05, which you can use to update an HP OneView 1.0 or 1.01 appliance or to install a new appliance. NOTE: You cannot change an existing connection between Ethernet (network or network set) and Fibre Channel networks. A Fibre Channel network can be changed to another Fibre Channel network on the same interconnect. • Local RAID storage management Users with Server administrator privileges can manage the local storage configuration as part of the server profile. Before you begin, create a VM snapshot of your appliance via the vSphere client. HP recommends you power off a VM before creating the VM snapshot. 1.
2 Best practices This section contains best practices for using HP OneView, intended for new customers. For additional best practices, see the HP OneView documentation, which is available at http:// www.hp.com/go/oneview/docs. 1. When updating HP OneView review all outstanding warnings and health status of systems under management. Pay special attention to firmware related warnings and health status. 2. Enclosures added to HP OneView cannot be part of an existing VC (HP Virtual Connect) domain.

4 Known limitations The following are known limitations for using HP OneView. • After restoring an appliance that uses the external SCMB (State-Change Message Bus) or HP OneView integration with VMware vCenter features, if the restore operation is performed to a different appliance (with a matching IP address) you must reboot the appliance after it is restored. Performing the reboot ensures that the restored appliance is fully operational.
