This CD lets you restore the HP OpenView Storage Management Appliance I (SMA I, previously SANworks Management Appliance) to Storage Management Appliance software v2.1. This entire procedure requires approximately 60 minutes to complete. Note: This QuickRestore CD is restricted for use with the HP OpenView Storage Management Appliance I. It cannot be used with any other management appliance versions. Installed Software and Software Versions Storage Management Appliance software v2.
English To QuickRestore the SMA I to Storage Management Appliance software v2.1, complete the following steps: 1. With the power on, insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive of the SMA I, and close the drive. 2. Power off and then power on the SMA I. The initial OpenView storage management appliance I QuickRestore screen is displayed (see Figure 1), and then the Main Menu is displayed (see Figure 2). Note: Portions of this QuickRestore process will involve automated reboots from the CD.
English Figure 2: Main Menu 3. Press the F key to begin the restore. The QuickRestore Confirmation screen is displayed (see Figure 3 on page 6). Note: From the Main Menu, you can press the E key to exit the restore. After you press the E key, the SMA I automatically reboots. You can also press the H key to display the QuickRestore Information screen. This screen displays the QuickRestore version number and provides general information about the QuickRestore process.
English Figure 3: QuickRestore Confirmation screen 4. Press the Y key to confirm that you want to delete all data and begin the restore on the SMA I. Caution: After you press the Y key, the process of restoring the SMA I begins. All passwords, the system name, user configurations, software updates, and database settings will be deleted. Note: Press the N key to cancel the restore process, and return to the Main Menu. 5. Cycle system power when prompted.

Set the Management Appliance date to the current date (mm-dd-yyyy) and press the ENTER key. Note: The screen displays mm-dd-yy. However, you must enter the year (yy) as a four-digit entry (yyyy). English 7. Verify whether the date displayed is correct: ■ ■ If the date displayed is correct, press the Y key. If the date displayed is not correct, press the N key, enter the current date, and press the Enter key. (See step 6 for the entry format.) Note: The system always requests that you verify the date entered. After the correct date is entered and verified, the time is displayed (see Figure 6).

If the time displayed is not correct, press the N key, enter the current time, and press the Enter key. (See step 8 for the entry format.
During the hardware configuration process, the SMA I reboots multiple times from the CD. At the completion of each CD reboot, the HP OpenView storage management appliance I QuickRestore screen is displayed (see Figure 1 on page 4). After the hardware configuration process concludes, the SMA I image download automatically begins, and the HP OpenView storage management appliance I QuickRestore status indicator screen is displayed (see Figure 8). Approximate time for the image download is 12 minutes.
After the operating system and software configuration process concludes, the SMA I is restored to Storage Management Appliance software v2.1. The Windows Welcome to Windows dialog box is displayed. 10. Install additional SMA I software updates and other applications, as required. Refer to your specific update or application documentation for information on installing them. Note: To browse to the SMA I, enter smaxxxxxxxxxxxx as the URL address from a compatible browser.
