This SP specifically supports the StorageWorks HSV controller and is provided with the HSV software kit and the StorageWorks Virtual Controller Software (HSV) V2.0 upgrade kit. A separate installation provided with this SP addresses the Password Manager code. The Password Manager part of the SP is required for customers using Network View V2.0B. ■ Management Appliance Software Update V1.0C Service Pack 3.
Storage Provisioner Issues ■ Compatibility with HP Continuous Access User Interface. ■ HP Business Copy Virtual Array and Storage Provisioner. ■ Reboot SMA after uninstalling Storage Provisioner V1.0. ■ JRE installation on the Storage Management Appliance. ■ Help content may not display on some Solaris systems. ■ Using connection offsets (HSG-based storage systems). ■ Using the default disk group (HSV-based storage systems). ■ Running Storage Provisioner from the SMA console.
Storage Provisioner Issues No more than one Storage Provisioner session at one time Do not open more than one session of Storage Provisioner at one time. Multiple sessions are known to cause several problems such as stopping a system discovery and corrupting the Storage Provisioner database. Compatibility with HP Continuous Access User Interface You can run the Continuous Access user interface on the same Storage Management Appliance as HP OpenView Storage Provisioner V1.1.
Storage Provisioner Issues Help content may not display on some Solaris systems Some Solaris systems may experience difficulty displaying the content of some help screens. This is caused by version-level issues with the JRE and the Help System. If you are experiencing difficulty displaying help content on Solaris, the Help system is also available in Adobe Acrobat form on the installation CD. The file names are: ■ ConsumerHelp.pdf ■ ProviderHelp.
Storage Provisioner Issues Note: If the host is physically connected to the utility but cannot see the volumes, check your zoning setup. See the SAN Design Reference Guide for zoning information, at: http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/san/documentation.html. Using the default disk group (HSV-based storage systems) A default disk group for HSV-based storage systems is created during initialization of the storage system.
Storage Provisioner Issues The SMA Home page displays. 2. Choose Tools. 3. In the address box of your browser change the localhost setting to the TCP/IP address of the SMA. For example, if the TCP/IP address of your SMA is 100.10.1.10 you enter it as follows: http://100.10.1.10/tasks.asp?tab1=TabsTools 4. Click storage provisioner. Storage Provisioner starts. Adding a Local Host Complete the following steps if your SAN has HSG array controllers. Note: This description uses HSG Element Manager.

The HSG Element Manager Agent Options page displays, where you can define your agent options, local host, and host name.

In the New Password field, type a valid password and retype it in the Confirm New Password field. c. In the Add Client row, type localhost in the Host Name field, and select the CLI Config option button. d. Click Submit at the top of the Content pane to accept your changes. e.
Storage Provisioner Issues 7. Restart the SMA software and log in. Because the SMA must finish rebooting before you can restart, you may need to wait a few moments to log in. Note: If you had Storage Provisioner V1.0 installed and have installed V1.1, after installation refresh each storage system.
