OpenView Storage Provisioner v1.1 - Release Notes
Storage Provisioner Issues
10 OpenView Storage Provisioner Release Notes
No more than one Storage Provisioner session at one time
Do not open more than one session of Storage Provisioner at one time.
Multiple sessions are known to cause several problems such as stopping a
system discovery and corrupting the Storage Provisioner database.
Compatibility with HP Continuous Access User Interface
You can run the Continuous Access user interface on the same Storage
Management Appliance as HP OpenView Storage Provisioner V1.1.
However, Storage Provisioner 1.0 cannot be loaded on the same SMA as the
CA user interface.
HP Business Copy Virtual Array and Storage Provisioner
HP Business Copy Virtual Array and Storage Provisioner can be used on the
same SAN if both products are not trying to manage the same LUN.
Reboot SMA after uninstalling Storage Provisioner V1.0
After uninstalling Storage Provisioner V1.0, the Storage Management
Appliance must be rebooted.
JRE installation on the Storage Management Appliance
When you install Storage Provisioner as a tool of the HP OpenView Storage
Management Appliance Software, part of the Storage Provisioner server
installation process installs the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.3.1 on the
Storage Management Appliance. This install process installs the JRE in such a
way that even if a newer or different version of the JRE is installed afterwards,
the Storage Provisioner server portion will still find and use JRE 1.3.1.
However, if you have a version of the JRE installed on the Storage
Management Appliance that is not 1.3.1, you may find, after installing
Storage Provisioner, that the tools or applications that were using the previous
installation are now finding JRE 1.3.1. If this is the case, simply re-install the
version of the JRE that your tool or application requires. The server portion of
the Storage Provisioner on the Storage Management Appliance will still find
version 1.3.1 of the JRE.
