Storage Provisioner Issues
9OpenView Storage Provisioner Release Notes
Compatibility with HP Continuous Access User Interface.
HP Business Copy Virtual Array and Storage Provisioner.
Reboot SMA after uninstalling Storage Provisioner V1.0.
JRE installation on the Storage Management Appliance.
Help content may not display on some Solaris systems.
Using connection offsets (HSG-based storage systems).
Using the default disk group (HSV-based storage systems).
Running Storage Provisioner from the SMA console.
Storage Allocator and Storage Provisioner conflict
Storage Allocator and Storage Provisioner should not be used to manage
LUNs on the same storage arrays or hosts. LUNs managed by Storage
Provisioner are not visible on Storage Allocator. Therefore, Storage Allocator
could potentially allocate a LUN that Storage Provisioner has also allocated.
This could cause data corruption (information to be overwritten).
What happens when the 60-day evaluation period expires?
This situation applies only if you have installed an Evaluation version of
Storage Provisioner. When the trial period runs out, the software continues to
run normally. However, when you try to perform an action that configures a
subsystem such as creating, modifying, or deleting a volume, or changing host
access to a volume, a message appears indicating that the evaluation period
has expired. This message is displayed in lieu of performing the requested
action.
Stopping Storage Provisioner stops the Continuous Access User Interface
When you stop Storage Provisioner, the Continuous Access User Interface is
also stopped. The opposite action is also true. When you stop the Continuous
Access User Interface, Storage Provisioner stops. Both applications use a
common API.
Rebooting the Storage Management Appliance
Whenever you reboot the Storage Management Appliance ensure that you
close all the browsers on your computer that are connected to the Storage
Management Appliance. The caching strategies of some of the browsers can
cause problems with Storage Provisioner.
