11.5 HP StoreVirtual Storage Release Notes

When splitting the P4800 G2 10 GbE NICS into a custom configuration for iSCSI and management,
the TCP speed/duplex reports Unknown
On P4800 G2 storage systems running the LeftHand OS versions listed in the table, if the Ethernet
ports are configured with a speed other than the supported speeds listed, the network controller
Speed/Method and Duplex/Method are reported as Unknown when viewed on the TCP Status
tab of the storage system Network category.
Supported NIC configurationsLeftHand OS version
100 Mb, 9.9 Gb, 10 Gb9.5.00 Patch Set 2 or greater
100 Mb, 1 Gb, 9 Gb, 9.9 Gb, 10 Gb10.0.00 or greater
Undefined and Unknown values are showing for Usage Remaining and Wear Status of drives
under SmartSSD Wear Gauge in System Management Homepage for P4900 G2 SSDs
The System Management Homepage displays incorrect values for the SSD status. The correct
status is viewable on the ADU. The CMC also reports the correct status in the following locations:
The Hardware Information report in the storage system Diagnostics category
The Disk Setup tab in the storage system Storage category
An event email is also generated with the SSD status.
Installation and upgrades
If the LeftHand OS interface is on the same VLAN as iSCSI, and iSCSI has the gateway, after
applying the upgrade, the CMC/StoreVirtual SAN will not be able to access the gateway.
To resolve this issue, change the LeftHand OS interface before beginning the upgrade.
SELinux setting affects installing and running the CMC
Before installing the CMC on a Linux server, you must ensure that SELinux on the Linux server is
set to permissive mode. SELinux is enabled and set to enforcing mode by default on Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5 and higher.
Upgrade issue with reimaged HP StoreVirtual 4530 with 4 TB drives
If an HP StoreVirtual 4530 has 4 TB drives and requires reimaging, if the 10.5 System Recovery
DVD is used, the reimaging will be successful, but the 4530 cannot be upgraded to 11.0. To
prevent this issue, use the 11.0 System Recovery DVD if reimaging is required.
Upgrade from 10.5 to 11.x fails to complete the post-qualification testing due to an Active Directory
password issue
If the user who is logged into the management group has an AD password that contains special
characters which are not allowed in 11.0 (“List of disallowed characters (page 14)) the upgrade
process cannot log into the management group to complete the post-qualification process. You
can avoid this issue by changing the AD password so that special characters are not used.
If you encounter this situation, you can resolve it as follows:
1. Stop the upgrade on the CMC.
2. Change the AD password.
3. Log back into the storage system and retry the upgrade.
CMC post-qualification fails to detect failed upgrade
In some circumstances, an online upgrade fails and the Upgrade Summary reports that the upgrade
was successful. However, the version reported in the Upgrade Summary is incorrect. To resolve
this issue, retry the upgrade.
