11.5 HP StoreVirtual Storage Release Notes

To resolve this issue, ensure that all ports connected to StoreVirtual 4330 storage systems are part
of a separate VLAN.
When deleting the ALB bond on a storage system that has been upgraded from 9.5 to 11.5, both
NIC ports become disabled
The ports lose the assigned IP addresses and the CMC cannot find the storage system. To resolve
this issue, log in to the Configuration Interface using iLO or KVM solution (Keyboard, Video,
Mouse), or connect to the StoreVirutal VSA using Hyper-V Manager or vSphere Client and reassign
the IP addresses to the storage system interfaces.
10 GB NIC status in TCP status shows failed after changing the NIC Flow Control settings
Do not configure the flow control or speed settings on 10 GB network interface cards. If you
attempt to change the setting, the change does not take effect.
NOTE: The default flow control setting on rack mount storage systems is off. The default flow
control setting on blade storage systems is on.
To recover from this situation, call HP Support for assistance.
Remote Copy
While cross–version Remote Copy is occurring from 10.0 or later to 8.5 management groups, if
copying halts because the cluster is full, the CMC displays the "See Alarms Window" error message,
although the 8.5 management group does not have the Alarms window
The Version 9.x and greater Alarms and Events feature is not compatible with pre-9.x versions of
software. Review the Alarms window for Version 9.x or later management groups. If you are
operating in a mixed SAN environment with management groups earlier than Version 9.x, also
review the Alerts window.
Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) Integration
SCVMM 2012 R2 is not supported
The StoreVirtual release versions 11.0 and 11.5 do not support SCVMM 2012 R2.
Provisioning FC storage to clustered Hyper-V hosts running Windows Server 2012 fails
Provisioning Fibre Channel storage to a clustered Windows 2012 Server Hyper-V cluster fails
with the message, SM_RC_UNKNOWN_ERROR.
Fibre Channel is not supported with SCVMM for the 11.5 release.
Cannot automatically provision volumes with CHAP authentication
CHAP cannot be automatically configured on volumes created with SCVMM. This is because of
the SMI-S standard, rather than an issue with either SCVMM or the StoreVirtual storage system.
To use CHAP, follow the instructions in the HP StoreVirtual Storage User Guide to configure CHAP
manually.
Deleting a stored virtual machine does not delete the storage
To resolve this issue, use the CMC to identify and delete any stranded SmartClones.
After registering a provider and creating a LUN, the Available Capacity value for a storage pool
is not correct
The value displayed in the Available Capacity column for a Storage Pool (LeftHand OS Cluster)
is not correct in Fabric\Storage\Classifications and Pools in the SCVMM GUI. To resolve this
issue, manually refresh or manually rescan the provider in the Fabric\Storage\Providers node
(SCVMM UI).
