Before you begin

Observe the following precautions when replacing a module.

CAUTION:

Parts can be damaged by electrostatic discharge. Use proper

anti-static protection. Refer to the documentation that shipped

with your system for additional information.

NOTE:

Port-colored (purple) latches on components mean the

component is hot-swappable. It can be removed and replaced

without having to power the system down.

NOTE:

Illustrations in this document may show modules or a chassis

that differ from your device. However, replacement procedures

are the same for all chassis that use this component.

The power UID and interconnect board are located on the rear of the

disk enclosure. See Figure 1 for the location.

6. Remove the top access cover. Verifying component failure a. Lift the access panel latch (1). The access panel will slightly disengage from the enclosure. Improper or failed operation of the LEDs on the power UID may indicate a replacement is necessary. b. Slide the access panel to the rear (2) and lift away from the chassis. • • • = Health. Solid green indicates the enclosure is operating normally. Blinking green indicates that the enclosure is starting up and not ready, performing POST.

Installing the power UID and interconnect board Additional information 1. Insert the LED bezel into the slot at the rear of the enclosure (1). HP resources (white papers and support documents): http:// www.hp.com/support/manuals 2. Align the interconnect board in the enclosure and secure the bezel ring and board with a T-15 screw (2 and 3). 3. Reconnect the UID cable from the backplane into the connector on the UID board (4). 4. Secure the top access panel on the enclosure.
