Hitachi Global Link Manager Software Installation and Configuration Guide
• While specifying cluster settings, do not access Global Link Manager.
• Before performing the procedure, make sure that the following conditions
are satisfied:
¢
Resource groups have been created in the cluster software.
¢
The primary and secondary nodes have been registered for a resource
group.
¢
The following resources have been added to the resource group and
are online:
• Shared disk
• Cluster management IP address
• Logical host name
• Make sure that the structure of the Global Link Manager installation folder
is the same for the primary and secondary nodes.
• If you execute the hcmds64dbclustersetup command in the following
procedure, the default (22032) is set to the port number that HiRDB uses.
Therefore, if you are using a port number other than the default to
perform operations, you need to reset the port number later. Write down
the port number you are using so that you can set the port number again.
• The space required for database-re-creation-destination-folder can be
calculated as follows:
required-space = database-capacity-for-Hitachi-Command-Suite-
Common-Component + database-capacity-for-all-Hitachi-Command-
Suite-products-installed-on-the-host-of-the-Global-Link-Manager
(including the Global Link Manager database)
If the hcmds64dbclustersetup command execution fails because there is
not enough space for database-re-creation-destination-folder, increase
the space for the folder, and then re-execute the command.
• Do not disconnect the shared disk from the executing node until
execution of the hcmds64dbclustersetup command terminates normally.
• If execution of the hcmds64dbclustersetup command terminated
abnormally and then you restart the server, the connection target of the
shared disk might be changed to the standby node.
Installing Global Link Manager on the Primary Node
1. On the primary node, perform a new installation of Global Link Manager.
For details about how to install Global Link Manager for the first time, see
Installing Global Link Manager for the First Time on page 2-5.
Requirements for installation are as follows:
¢
For the folder in which Global Link Manager is to be installed, specify a
folder on the local disk. For the folder for storing the database, specify
a folder under the installation folder.
¢
For the IP address or host name of the Global Link Manager server,
specify the logical IP address or logical host name of the cluster.
