NOTE: The XP7 Command View Advanced Edition Management Server is not required for
Business Continuity Manager. It is required if the Replication Monitor option for CVAE is used.
Prerequisites for using a z/Linux volume on IBM system z
Make sure that you are aware of the information in this section before using Business Continuity
Manager on a z/Linux IBM system.
Note the following limitations:
• Only XP12000/XP10000, XP24000/XP20000, XP P9500, and XP7 storage systems are
supported.
• Allowed copy types are BC Z, Cnt Ac-S Z, Cnt Ac-J Z, or TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe
(TCA for XP12000/XP10000/XP24000/XP20000 only).
• The volume must be a supported 3380 or 3390 CKD emulation. Fibre channel protocol (FCP)
volumes are supported with zLinux by the HP XP storage systems, but they are not supported
by Business COntinuity Manager.
