If pair status is not Hold, match the pair’s actual statuses in the following table and then perform
the corrective action.

2. Release the Cnt Ac-J Z pair from the local site.
3. Make sure that all the pairs belonging to the journal in the local site are

4. Create a Cnt Ac-J Z delta resync pair that extends from the local site to
the Cnt Ac-J Z remote site.
Local site: Suspend 1. Release the Cnt Ac-J Z pair from the local site.
Cnt Ac-J Z remote site: Hold
2. Make sure that all the pairs belonging to the journal in the local site are
released.
3. Create a Cnt Ac-J Z delta resync pair that extends from the local site to
the Cnt Ac-J Z remote site.
Change the status of the Hlde pair back to Hold.Local site: Hlde
Cnt Ac-J Z remote site: Hold
Local site: unpaired 1. Release the pair in Hold status from the Cnt Ac-J Z remote site.
Cnt Ac-J Z remote site: Hold
2. Create a Cnt Ac-J Z delta resync pair that extends from the local site to
the Cnt Ac-J Z remote site.
Recovery for Cnt Ac-J Z/BC Z configurations
See “Configurations with Business Copy Z secondary volumes ” (page 154) for information and
illustrations on the configuration covered in this procedure.
You resume host operations to the remote Continuous Access Journal Z secondary volume if a
disaster or failure occurs at the local site where the Cnt Ac-J Z P-VOL is shared with the Business
Copy Z (BC Z) secondary volume. Then you recover the local site and then resume host operations.
Procedure 42 To recover a Cnt Ac-J Z P-VOL/BC Z S-VOL configuration
1. Release the BC Z pair using the YKDELETE command.
2. Suspend the Cnt Ac-J Z pair using the YKSUSPND REVERSE command.
3. Reverse the copy direction and re-establish the Cnt Ac-J Z pair using the YKRESYNC REVERSE
command.
4. Delete the Cnt Ac-J Z pair using the YKDELETE command.
5. Reverse the copy direction of the Cnt Ac-J Z pair again to the original direction and re-establish
the pair using the YKRESYNC FORWARD command.
6. Suspend the Cnt Ac-J Z pair using the YKSUSPND command.
7. Reverse the copy direction of the BC Z pair using the YKMAKE command.
8. Release the BC Z pair using the YKDELETE command.
9. Reverse the copy direction of the BC Z pair again to the original direction and re-establish
the pair using the YKMAKE command.
10. Suspend the BC Z pair using the YKSUSPND command.
11. Recreate the Cnt Ac-J Z pair using the YKMAKE command.
The system becomes the original configuration again.
