Life safety systems 18
Manually activating a fire pull does the following:
Activates the POD fire alarm system horn and strobe lights
Triggers a fire alarm signal to the BMS in the fire box (on page 68) and activates a 30-second delay
before releasing the fire suppression agent
IMPORTANT:
The fire suppression abort button will not delay the release of the fire suppression
agent if a manual fire pull is initiated. All personnel should evacuate immediately.
There are two emergency fire suppression activation override buttons, one on top of each FM200 cylinder in
the cold aisle.
To activate the emergency fire suppression activation override and initiate a direct release of fire suppression
agent, remove the safety pin and press the button on both tanks. Only initiate this override in extreme
circumstances or when the manual fire pull cannot be accessed.
IMPORTANT:
When the use of the override buttons is necessary, activate both fire suppression
tanks to ensure that a fire is extinguished.
