11. Business visas
Assistance in instances where a temporary business visa
is required for HP personnel for the site visit. This
assistance will typically take the form of preparation of a
letter of invitation. In some cases, a formal request must
be made by the local company for whom the work is
taking place.

HP POD 240a site readiness checklist
Before installing the HP POD 240a, follow all steps listed in this guide, the site plan, and the following
checklists.

Verify the site location for the site pad is level. The site pad must
be level with less than +/-0.5 degrees differential from extreme
to extreme. Shimming is allowed when shims are used directly
under the HP POD 240a load pads, and are placed in
increments across the length of the HP POD 240a, ensuring the
HP POD 240a is level.

Verify HP POD 240a is capable of supporting the total HP POD
240a solutions weight.

Verify the HP POD 240a site has provisions for grounding.

Verify the site pad is physically marked with the locations for all
HP POD 240a load pads.

Verify the HP POD 240a is not in the direct path of any external
heat loads, such as generators or building HVAC.

Verify the installation starting point has been identified and
marked. This is the location where the first HP POD 240a
section is placed during installation.

Verify the average local temperatures and ensure adequate
environment protection is provided. For example, cold weather
protection, if required.

Verify that site altitude is less than 10,000 feet.

When installing on an elevated surface, verify that the
maximum height requirements for circuit breaker actuator meet
the local and national electric code requirements of 200 cm
(79 in) (NEC 240.24-a) Verify that proper landings and
catwalk is planned for electrical cabinet access.

Verify the planning for required egress routes for all HP POD
240a personnel doors, cargo doors, and service area doors,
including landings, catwalk, and stairs.

Verify that the local AHJ has been contacted, all applicable
codes and site-specific location guidelines have been
reviewed, and all required permits are obtained.

Verify the site location has clearances for HP POD 240a
installation, including any permanent structures, such as fences,
walls, vestibules, and buildings.
