HP Antenna Power-level Setting Guide

Caution This document provides mandatory radio power-level settings that must be

configured to ensure that your device complies with regulatory requirements in

your region.

This document applies to you if you use any of these optional HP antennas with HP MSM

access points:

 J8441A: 4.4 dBi 2.4GHz indoor/outdoor omnidirectional antenna,

 J8444A: 7.4 dBi 2.4GHz outdoor omnidirectional antenna,

 J8997A: 3/4 dBi indoor dual band diversity antenna,

 J8999A: 6.9/7.7 dBi indoor/outdoor dual band directional antenna.

HP ProCurve MultiService Mobility (MSM) Wireless Products select MSM3xx4xx

Antenna and Power-Level Information.

These four antennas may be used with MSM access points as follows:

Radio Power-level Setting Example In this example, an optional HP antenna J8997A is to be used on an autonomous MSM AP configured for 802.11g in the USA. Per the Maximum RF Power Setting chart screenshot below, the intersection of row UNITED STATES and column 802.11g Mode/J8997A, indicates that the maximum radio power level is 15 dBm. (Please check the actual charts in this document for current values). Set the maximum power level of 15 dBm as follows (MSM310 used as example): 1.
