2. RF Power-level Setting Example
In this example, the 2dBi Dual-Band 6-Element Omni-Directional Antenna (J9569A) is to be used on an autonomous
E-MSM466 J9622A (WW) configured on channel 44 for 802.11n/a without Tx Beamforming. Per the
5 GHz Maximum TX Power Settings for J9622A (WW) chart portion below, the maximum 5 GHz Tx power for
channels 36-48 for the 2 dBi antenna is 19 dBm:
To set the TX power level to 19 dBm or less, proceed as follows:
1. Launch the MSM AP management tool and log in.
2. Select Wireless > Radio.
3. In the Radio 1 column, select Advanced wireless settings to expand the dialog box.
4. Under Transmit power control disable Maximum available output power.
5. To the left of dBm, specify the Set power to value (up to 19 in this example). The dialog box should now
look similar to this (in this screenshot the tall dialog box is split in two):
