Action of the multicast member switch
The switch
checks whether
the port is the
last host port in
the
corresponding
MAC multicast
group.
z If yes, remove
the
correspondin
g MAC
multicast
group and IP
multicast
group
z If not, remove
only those
entries
correspondin
g to this port
in the MAC
multicast
group, and
remove the
correspondin
g entries in
the IP
multicast
group
IGMP
leave
message
Host
Multicas
t router
and
multicas
t switch
Notify
the
multica
st
router
and
multica
st
switch
that the
host is
leaving
its
multica
st
group.
Multicast router and
multicast switch send
IGMP specific group
query message(s) to
the multicast group
whose member host
sends leave
messages to check if
the multicast group
has any member and
enable the
corresponding query
timer.
If no response is
received from
the multicast
group before the
timer times out,
notify the router
to remove this
multicast group
node from the
multicast tree
