1) Start PC and run the terminal emulator (such as Terminal on Windows3.1, and the
HyperTerminal on Windows95/Windows98/Windows 2000/Windows NT/Windows
ME/Windows XP).
2) Set the parameters for Windows XP HyperTerminal as follows:
z Bits per second: 9600
z Data bits: 8.
z Parity: None
z Stop bits:1
z Flow control: None
z Terminal emulation: VT100
The procedure is as follows:
Select Start > Programs/All Programs > Accessories > Communications >
HyperTerminal to enter the HyperTerminal window to establish a new connection and
the system will pop up the Connection Description dialog box.

Type the name of the new connection and click OK. Then there pops up the interface as
shown in the following figure. Select the serial port to be used from Connect using
drop-down list box.
