z The dead interval set on neighboring interfaces cannot be so short. Otherwise, a
neighbor is easily considered down.
z The LSA retransmission interval cannot be so short; otherwise, unnecessary
retransmissions occur.
3.6.3 Configuring the DR Priority for an Interface
Follow these steps to configure the DR priority for an interface:

Note:
The DR priority of an interface determines the interface’s qualification in DR election.
Interfaces having the priority 0 cannot become a DR or BDR.
