Caution:
Do not hold the power handles, but the handles on the rear of the chassis, or put fingers
into the vent of chassis when moving the switch.
Since the power handle and vent have not been designed to bear the weight of the
entire chassis, it may hurt the switch chassis or even your body when you move the
switch by handling them.
3.1.4 Anti-static Safety
To prevent the electric component from being damaged by the electrostatic discharge
(ESD), take ESD measures for the area where the switch is located and pay attention to
the following:
z Always wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap when installing the components,
especially the electric printed circuit boards, of the switch.
z Take the edge of the circuit board. Do not touch the components or the electric
printed circuit.
Take the following steps to use the ESD-preventive wrist strap.
Step 1: Put your hand through the wrist strap and wear it
Step 2: Strain and tighten the strap, ensure that it makes good contact with your skin.
Step 3: Insert it into the ESD-preventive wrist strap hole in the switch chassis or attach
the alligator clips to the grounding screw of the chassis.
Step 4: Make sure the ESD-preventive wrist strap is well grounded.
Note:
z An ESD-preventive wrist strap is shipped with the S7502.
z There is an ESD-preventive wrist strap hole on the left side of the S7502 power
module.
z The grounding screw is located at the bottom right corner of the chassis rear.
Caution:
For safety consideration, check the resistance of the ESD-preventive wrist strap. The
resistance between human body and the ground should be 1 to 10 Mohm.
