3-5
3.2.4 Grounding Requirements
A good grounding system is the basis for a switch to work stably and reliably and the
important guarantee of lightning protection, anti-interference and ESD. A switch should
be provided with good grounding system.
3.2.5 Power Supply Requirements
The S7502 provides 1+1 power redundancy backup.
For AC power modules:
z Rated voltage range: 100 VAC to 240VAC, 50 Hz or 60 Hz
z Input voltage range: 90 VAC to 264 VAC, 50 Hz or 60 Hz
z Power output power: 300 W
For DC power modules:
z Rated voltage range: –48 VDC to –60 VDC
z Input voltage range: –36 VDC to –72 VDC
z Max output power: 296 W
3.3 Installation Planning
Since the S7502 is a kind of complex equipment, it is necessary to make a good plan
and arrangement concerning installation position, networking measure, power supply
and cabling before installing it.
3.3.1 Space Requirement
For better heat dissipation and equipment maintenance, it is recommended to keep the
front and back of the switch more than 1 meters inclusive away from the walls or other
devices. There can be other devices located beside the left and right of the switch.
However, you shall keep the left and right of the switch more than 0.8 meters inclusive
away from the walls. If the optional rack will be installed, the net height of equipment
room should be more than 3 meters inclusive.
3.3.2 Rack-Mounting Requirements
Before rack-mounting a switch, make sure the rack meets the following requirements:
z Better mount a switch in an open rack. However, if you mount a switch in a closed
rack, make sure of good heat dissipation system.
z Make sure the rack stands steadily enough to well support the switch and
accessories.
z Make sure that the switch fits the rack size. Leave enough spaces beside the left
and right panels of the switch for chassis heat dissipation.
