Use TFTP protocol to upgrade through the Ethernet interface of the routing switch
unit;
Use FTP protocol to upgrade through the Ethernet interface of the routing switch unit;
Use XMODEM protocol to upgrade through the Console port of the routing switch unit.
Using Ethernet interface, the first two ways come in faster download. Setting user
name and password is necessary for FTP, so dos not TFTP.
The last one comes in slower download as it uses a serial interface.
8.1 Remote Upgrading through CLI
You may upgrade the application and Boot ROM program of a device remotely
through command line interface (CLI). To this end, telnet to the device from a
computer (at 10.10.110.1) running FTP Server first; and then FTP the application and
Boot ROM program, S 7500.app and srpubtm.app and lpubtm.app. for example, from
the FTP server as follows:
