630 RPS/EPS Filler Kit Installation

Instructions

The filler box needs to be installed with a 630 RPS/EPS when it is going to be shipped in a rack. If

the 630 RPS/EPS is to be shipped in a rack, be sure to use only an HP 10K rack with a shock pallet.

Mount the 630 RPS/EPS using an HP ProCurve 1U Rack Mount kit part number 356578-B21 and (if

shipping a single RPS/ESP 630 unit) Half-width Filler kit P/N 5064-2163. Both kits must be used.

Otherwise you will void the warranty.

If shipping two RPS/EPS units, they must be supported from underneath either by an HP ProCurve

switch or by an HP Rack Support shelf kit part number AB469A. In this case the HP ProCurve 1U

Rack Mount kit and the HP Rack Support shelf kit are necessary. Both kits must be used. Otherwise

you will void the warranty.

1. Mount the rails into the rack. Use the instructions in the HP ProCurve 1U Rack Mount kit,

Figure 2.

2. Attach the joining brackets, one to the 630 RPS/EPS and one to the filler box, Figure 3.

Note

When attaching the joining brackets, attach them with the fascia tab facing to the front of the unit.

In this configuration neither the long nor short mounting brackets are needed. The slide brackets

from the 1U Rack Mount kit are used instead.

3. Join the 630 RPS/EPS and the filler box together and secure the screws, Figures 4, 5, and 6.

Note

To ensure a safe and secure mounting, use all the screws specified for attaching the joining brackets

to the unit and attaching the joining brackets together. All 8-mm M4 screws should be installed to a

torque of 15 in-lbs. Use a Cross-head screwdriver and attach the joining brackets to the unit with the

included 8-mm M4 screws.

4. Attach the slide brackets to the joined unit, Figure 7.

5. Insert the joined units into the rack rails, Figure 8.
