HP 3100 SI Switch Series - S3100SI-CMW310-R2215P12 Release Notes

Restrictions and cautions
Item1
Don’t shut down the 100BASE-LH40 port when connecting two devices through
100BASE-LH40 uplink ports.
Item2
We suggest that enable attack-protection on the access ports, when 802.1x or centralized MAC
authentication is enabled.
Item3
The packets which source MAC addresses are multicast or zero can be forward according to the
destination MAC address and the zero MAC address can be learned in ARL, but the zero MAC address
is filtered in displaying.
Item4
The packet flows can’t be balanced in more than one port which work in half duplex mode and
flow-control are enabled. At the same time, here are a lot of abort packets in port MIB statistics. When
the speed of send packets is less than 100M, the flow-control of half duplex is OK.
Item5
The packet which length is larger than 1518 bytes will be counted in the giants.
Item6
The etherStatsUndersizePkts MIB statistics are not very precise.
Item7
Switch only supports QinQ globally. When enabled in designated port, QinQ will be enabled in all
ports expect the uplink ports. User must configure the ports of same VLAN with same PVID when
enabling QinQ in the port.
Item8
The GE port with ONU sub-card must belong to the PVID VLAN. Otherwise, the ONU sub-card doesn't
work well.
Item9
When MAC address number reaches to the max-count on the port which mac-address max-mac-count is
enabled, the port will drop the BPDU packets directly (include STP, dot1X, NDP packet).
Item10
The devices using new Flash part must be installed with BOOTROM version 612 and APP R2214P03
software or later version. And it must not be downgraded to the early software version.
