Modifying the Authentication Mode
You can select either the local database or the RADIUS server to be used when
authenticating device login requests for the Switch using the systemMode command on
the Authentication menu.
3Com recommends that you configure your Switch for RADIUS authentication using
the setup command before you modify the authentication mode from local to RADIUS.
This command is not available on the SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 SE. To make
RADIUS authentication of Switch Management Login available on the SuperStack 3
Switch 4400 SE, upgrade the product to the Switch 4400 SE Enhanced Software
Upgrade (3C17207).
To modify the authentication mode for the Switch:
From the Top-level menu, enter:
security device authentication systemMode
The following prompt is displayed:
Select authentication mode (local,RADIUS) [local]:
If you have not already configured your Switch for RADIUS authentication
using the setup command, the following warning will be displayed.
WARNING: RADIUS is not configured, RADIUS authentication will fail.
Do you wish to continue (yes,no) [no]:
