Defining a New User
You can define a new user for the stack using the create command on the user menu.
To define a new user for the stack:
1. From the Top-level menu, enter:
security device user create
The following warning and prompt is displayed:
WARNING: To ensure passwords are not inadvertently disclosed, please
ensure that only a secure CLI session is used to set passwords. This
can be achieved by using an encrypted SSH connection or through the
console port.
Enter a new user name:
2. Enter a name for the new user.
The following prompt is displayed:
Enter the access level (monitor,manager,security) [security]:
3. Enter an access level for the new user.
The following prompt is displayed:
Enter the password:
4. Enter a password for the new user.
The following prompt is displayed:
Re-enter the password:
5. Enter the password for the new user again.
The following prompt is displayed:
Enter the community string [<user>]:
6. Enter a community string for the new user.
The following prompt is displayed:
Do you want to set SNMPv3 security? (yes,no)[yes]:
7. Enter yes to set SNMPv3 security or no if you do not wish to set security.
If you enter 'no' no further prompts will appear.
The following prompt is displayed:
