Restrictions and cautions
1. SFP+ Direct Attach Cables are not recommended for use as IRF connections because failover and
recovery times are extended when this form of copper connection is use. Optical IRF connections
are recommended to optimize IRF failure, recovery and convergence times.
2. It takes more than half an hour to collect diagnostic information when the IRF has many
configuration parameters.
3. The hp 7500 product family supports four IRF members in R6635. There are several setup and
configuration limitation, please check the Command Line Manual and Operation Manual of new
release for detail.
4. If you enable multicast ARP and connect the device to an NLB server through an aggregate
interface, any port that receives client traffic must not reside on the same card as any member port
of the aggregate interface.
Open problems and workarounds
LSD68133
Symptom: In this version of code, the password encryption within configuration files has been
enhanced and cannot be interpreted by earlier revisions of the agent code.
Condition: If a unit is downgraded to earlier code, it may no longer be possible to login and
manage the device.
Workarounds:
Before upgrading to the new code, it is necessary to ensure password control is disabled.
Execute theundo password-control enable and then save this configuration file as a backup
in case you need to downgrade the software again. If it is later necessary to downgrade to
earlier software, force the switch to use this backup configuration file by executing astartup
