Operating Systems
When the HP Extended Services zl Module ships, it includes a Hard Disk Drive
(HDD), a Compact Flash (CF), and the module itself, along with:
■ HP Service OS
The primary and backup Service OS reside on the Compact Flash (CF).
The HP Extended Services zl Module is typically not booted to this OS,
but it is available for performing diagnostics in case troubleshooting is
required.
■ Avaya Aura™ System Platform
The System Platform includes a base, which is the host operating system
(Dom-0), and a virtual machine - Console Domain (cdom) - that is used to
manage the platform. The Avaya Aura™ Session Border Controller Appli-
cation is a template (a prebuilt and installed set of virtual appliances) that
is installed on top of the System Platform.
On the HP AllianceONE Services zl Module for Avaya Aura™ Session
Border Controller, the System Platform is pre-installed and licensed on
the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) at the factory. See Figure 2-2 on page 2-3.
The Avaya Aura™ Session Border Controller
Application
The application is installed as a virtual machine on the System Platform using
a solution template named sbct-hp.ovf. This template is available for download
from the Avaya Product Licensing and Delivery System (PLDS) at
http://plds.avaya.com.
