The product’s supported features include:
■ Multiprotocol signaling (SIP, H.323, and SIP/H.323 IWF)
■ Service reach (NAT traversal; IP address translation; number and URI
manipulation; signaling message header manipulation; protocol inter-
working - signaling, transport and encryption protocols; response code
translations; SDP and DTMF manipulation; transcoding is a licensed
option)
■ Security (SBC DoS/DDoS protection, access control, topology hiding,
VPN separation, privacy; virus and SPIT protection; service infrastructure
DoS prevention; fraud prevention; monitoring and reporting; encryption)

Switch-Based Deployment
The Avaya Aura™ Session Border Controller Application is loaded on an HP
Extended Services zl Module that is pre-configured with the Avaya Aura™
System Platform. The host switch typically sits in a network’s demilitarized
zone (DMZ) with connectivity to the private IP network resources and a public
SIP Service Provider. Deployment is a three step process:
1. Configure the network interfaces on the HP 5400zl or 8200zl switch for
your requirements.
2. Install the Avaya Aura™ Session Border Controller Application on the pre-
loaded Avaya Aura™ System Platform.
3. Configure SIP connectivity, done using the Avaya Aura™ System Platform
management interfaces.
