HP Advanced Services zl Module with Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008 R2 Installation and Getting Started Guide

Getting Started
Introduction
The module CLI (hp-svcs-std context)—You can access a CLI that is
specific to the module. When you access the windows context for this CLI,
you are configuring the server that is running on the module. (See Appen-
dix E: “Command-Line Reference.”) Therefore, if you enable an interface
in this CLI, you are enabling the interface from the server side.
In this CLI, the interface IDs are:
• 1 (corresponds to <slot>1)
• 2 (corresponds to <slot>2)
• management (the management port on the module’s front panel)
The Windows Server 2008 R2 remote desktop—When the server
boots up, it assigns a Local Area Connection to each of the three module
interfaces. The Local Area Connection ID depends on the order in which
the interfaces come up. You can determine the ID of your interfaces by
entering ipconfig/all from the windows command prompt:
• Two 10 Gigabit interfaces have the same MAC address except for the
final digit. The interface with the lower MAC address is interface 1.
The interface with the higher MAC address is interface 2.
• The Gigabit interface is the management interface. You can also
identify this interface by its MAC address, which is higher than the
MAC addresses on the internal interfaces.
