Management
Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)
Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)
An RDP session provides your primary option for monitoring and managing
the module’s Windows Server 2008 R2 OS. As with any server, you can log in
as a domain user or a local Administrator, and different tasks will be available
to you based on your domain policies.
Enable and Disable the Remote Desktop
Remote Desktop connections to the module are enabled by default. But if you
need to reenable (or disable) this feature, follow these steps:
1. Open a CLI management session with the HP zl switch.
2. Access the module’s CLI:
For example:
hostzlswitch# services c name hp-svcs-std
3. Log in to Windows:
hostzlswitch(hp-svcs-std-C)# windows SBMAdmin
When prompted for a password, enter the password that you set for the
local Administrator.
Alternatively, you can log in as a domain user:
hostzlswitch(hp-svcs-std-C)# windows <domain user>
When prompted, type the user’s password.
Note The domain user must be a member of the Windows Server 2008 R2’s Local
Administrators group.
Syntax: services <slot-ID> [<index number> | name hp-svcs-std]
Replace <slot-ID> with the letter of the chassis slot in which
the module is installed.
Replace <index number> with the index number for the
module. (If you do not know, enter the show services
command and look for the index number associated with
Branch Core Svcs Module -Standard.)
