Solution 1: WAN Optimization and
Survivability
Problem: Congested, Non-Resilient WAN
Connection
A company has a branch office with just under 100 employees. The employees
routinely rely on resources and services that are stored at the corporate data
center. Due to these constant requests to the data center, the WAN link is
experiencing congestion and, as a result, employees have complained that the
network is slow. The company would like to decrease congestion without an
expensive purchase of more WAN bandwidth.
In addition, the network administrators warn that a failed WAN link will lead
to basic services becoming unavailable. Users will not be able to log in to the
domain nor will their devices be able receive IP addresses or resolve host-
names. In effect, users will lose even local network connectivity.
