In the example network, the UTM device’s WAN1 port is the management port, and the
WAN2 port is the sniffer port.
4. Connect a cable from the management port of the UTM device to the switch. Do not connect
the sniffer port yet because this will cause a loop in your network.
5. Make sure that SNMP communications are set up on the UTM device. This includes
configuring the global SNMP parameters as well as configuring both the management and
sniffer ports.
Note that the special software used for operating in IDS mode enables additional protocol
choices in the global SNMP configuration. When using the UTM device with PCM+/NIM,
select the v2c protocols; clear the v1 and v3 protocol check boxes.
After you configure the SNMP settings, click OK.
