Subtask: Enable Communication Between the TMS zl Module and the
PCM+/NIM Server
PCM+/NIM allows you to configure and manage multiple TMS zl Modules at the same time.
First, however, you must ensure that the TMS zl Module can communicate with the PCM+/NIM
server. If the PCM+/NIM server is in a management access zone, the necessary access policies
have been created, and you can continue with “Subtask: Discover the TMS zl Module in PCM+”
on page 4-42.
If the PCM+ server is in a different VLAN, you will need to:
Associate PCM+’s VLAN with a zone
Create access policies to allow the TMS zl Module to send SNMP, SNMP traps, and SSH
traffic to the PCM+/NIM server
Before you can associate a VLAN with a TMS zone, that VLAN must be created on the module’s
host switch.
Subtask: Associate a VLAN with a TMS Zone. Complete the following steps:
1. Click Network > Zones > VLAN Associations.
2. Click Add VLAN Association.
3. From the Zone list, select the zone.
4. From the VLAN ID list, select the VLAN. Only VLANs that have been configured on the host
switch will be included in this list.
5. If the switch has an IP address on this VLAN, select the Allow switch to have IP address on
this VLAN check box.
6. Under IP Setting, select Static.
7. In the IP Address field, type the IP address.
8. In the Subnet Mask field, type the subnet mask.
