Ongoing Management
After the SBM has been installed, administrators can manage it using local
tools on the SBM itself or remote tools.
Local Management
You have several options for locally monitoring and maintaining the SBM:
Dashboard—After completing the Setup Wizard, administrators can
access the SBM Dashboard by contacting the SBM at its FQDN. The
Dashboard provides a quick check on the SBM’s status and the status of
its components. It enables administrators to reach configuration pages,
start and stop services, install new certificates, and troubleshoot tele-
phony.
RDP to the SBM Windows Server 2008 R2 OS—Administrators can
use RDP to contact the SBM at its FQDN and log in to its desktop. From
the desktop, they can obtain more detailed information about the Lync
Server and gateway services and complete almost any task available from
a Windows Server 2008 R2 desktop.
CLI access through the HP zl switch CLI—The SBM also includes a
CLI with commands for the SBM ONE-App OS. Typically, administrators
only need to use the CLI for the initial setup.
Access through the HP zl switch services <slot ID> tech command
This command gives administrators pass-through access to the SBM. It is
primarily intended for last-resort troubleshooting and resetting the SBM
to factory default settings.
