Configuring a TMS zl Module as an IPS
Configuring IPS
Configuring IPS
A TMS zl Module must be configured for IPS, and IPS must be enabled before
the module can detect threats. To configure a module for IPS operation:
1. Configure the IPS settings.
2. If the IPS will perform an action when it detects a protocol anomaly:
a. Configure protocol anomalies.
b. Configure IPS actions.
3. If the IPS will detect packets containing signatures of known threats:
a. Configure signatures.
b. Configure the signature update interval.
4. Permanently save the configuration on the modules and enable IPS.
Configuring IPS Settings
The IPS Settings window is used to enable or disable IPS on TMS zl modules.
IPS cannot be enabled for a TMS zl module currently operating in IDS mode.
Therefore, you must disable IDS at the TMS zl Module before configuring IPS
setting via NIM.
