Configuring a VPN on the HP TMS zl Module
Exporting and Importing Objects
This window displays the IP addresses currently assigned to remote
endpoints:
Assigned IP Address—the IP address assigned to the remote endpoint
through IKE Mode Config
Peer Address—the remote endpoint’s actual IP address (as it appears
on the network through which it connects to the TMS zl Module)
Remote ID Type—the type of ID with which the remote endpoint
identifies itself during IKE
Remote ID Data—the remote endpoint’s ID
IP Address Pool Name—the name of the IPsec policy that the TMS zl
Module used to connect to the remote endpoint (this policy includes
the address pool from which the endpoint received its IKE Mode
Config address)
Exporting and Importing Objects
When you have configured an IKE policy or IPsec proposal on one TMS zl
Module, you can export that object to other modules that are managed by NIM.
During the export process, you are given the option of customizing certain
settings for the targeted modules. For example, in an IKE policy, you can
change the local gateway address to the correct address for each targeted
module. In this way, you can quickly and efficiently apply accurate and
consistent settings to TMS zl Modules throughout your system.
Conversely, you can import multiple IKE policies or IPsec proposals that are
configured on modules managed by NIM to a single TMS zl Module. For
example, your company has two modules and installs a third. The existing two
modules are already configured with the correct policies for your system, so
you import those policies to the new module, customizing them as you do.
The sections below explain in more detail the process of exporting and
importing these objects.
Exporting an IKE Policy or IPsec Proposal
To export an IKE policy or IPsec proposal, you must navigate to the TMS zl
folder in the PCM+ navigation tree. You then have two options for reaching
the correct configuration windows:
