Managing TMS zl Modules
Configuring High Availability Clusters
Note For clusters that are created by the TMS zl Module CLI or Web browser
interface and imported into NIM, once the cluster is formed, the Participant
module will continue to be displayed in the navigation tree, with an indication
that the module is not reachable. You can remove that module from the display
without affecting the operation of the cluster by using the PCM Delete Device
function:
1. Right click on the Participant module in the navigation tree, and select
Delete device from the menu.
2. In the Action Selection window, make sure the Delete device(s) radio button
is selected and click Next, then Next, and Finish.
Adding a Device to an HA Cluster
A High Availability cluster consists of two TMS zl Modules. Use the Add Device
to Cluster feature if only one device was added when the cluster was initially
created or if a device was removed from the cluster and you want to add it
back to the cluster. You can also use this feature if you just want to add a device
as a Master module to a cluster, allowing you to incrementally create the
cluster.
1. In the navigation tree, right-click the module to be added to the cluster.
Devices that already belong to a cluster cannot be added to another
cluster.
a. Select menu item TMS-High Availability.
b. Select submenu item Add Device to Cluster.
c. The Add Device to Cluster window is displayed, as shown on the next
page.
2. Select whether you want to add the module to an existing cluster as the
Participant module, or add the device as the Master module and create a
new cluster.
• If you select to Add the device as Participant, to an existing cluster, the
window shows the configuration of the corresponding Master module
at the top, and provides fields for configuring the Participant below,
as shown in Figure 1-32 on the next page. This option is disabled if
there are no clusters with only Masters available.
a. Select the cluster to which you want to add the module, and complete
the configuration.
