HP TMS zl Module Security Administrator's Guide

Managing TMS zl Modules
Configuring High Availability Clusters
module becomes reachable from NIM. If there is no Participant module,
the IP address is lost and the TMS zl module will be unreachable. Access
to the TMS zl module via NIM, the Web UI, or Telnet will not work. You
must telnet into the CLI of the switch where the TMS zl Module is inserted.
From there, go to the TMS zl Module context, and the configuration level,
and configure a new IP address of the TMS zl Module by giving the
configuration commands:
vlan <vlan_id> ip address <ip address> <subnet mask>
write memory
When these commands are applied, the module will have the IP address
you just assigned it and no longer be part of the cluster.
Removing a Module Using the CLI
Either a Master module or a Participant module can be removed from the
cluster by using the CLI. If the Master is removed, the Participant module
becomes the Master in the cluster. If the Participant module is removed, then
the Master continues its role in the cluster.
1. From the switch CLI, at the manager context level, access the CLI of the
TMS zl Module that you want to remove from the cluster by using the
services command. For example, if the module is in switch slot C, at the
switch prompt enter:
switch_prompt# services c 2
2. From the module CLI, go to the configuration context, and then enter
these commands:
no high-availability delete-cluster-data
write memory
The delete-cluster-data option removes the network IP address and other
cluster identity of the module. This option must be included if the module
being removed is the Master. Otherwise, as the Master is removed and the
Participant becomes the Master, the Participant acquires the Master
module’s configuration, resulting in both modules having the same IP
address.
Removing a Module Using the Web Browser Interface
The procedures for using the TMS zl Module Web browser interface to remove
the module from an HP cluster are described in the HP Threat Management
Services zl Module Management and Configuration Guide available at:
www.hp.com/networking/manuals. See “Disabling a Cluster” in chapter 8.
