HP TMS zl Module Security Administrator's Guide
1-70
Managing TMS zl Modules
Configuring High Availability Clusters
From there, go to the TMS zl Module CLI context and to the configuration
level, and reconfigure the IP address of the module by giving the config-
uration commands:
vlan <vlan_id> ip address <ip address> <subnet mask>
write memory
After the commands are applied, the TMS zl Module will have the IP
address you just assigned it and no longer be part of the cluster.
Removing the Cluster, Keeping the Configuration
on the Master
To remove the cluster and retain the configuration on the original Master
module, perform these steps:
1. Synchronize the TMS zl properties of the Master module in the cluster.
See “Synchronizing TMS zl Properties” on page 1-17 for this procedure
and select the Master module of the cluster that you will remove. For the
properties to synchronize, select the entire System folder, as shown in
Figure on page 1-58.
2. Synchronize the configurations between the two modules in the cluster.
See “Synchronize HA Cluster” on page 1-71 for this procedure.
3. Access the Master module CLI through the switch CLI and issue the boot
command.
Booting the Master module causes its configuration to be copied to the
Participant module and the Participant takes over as the new Master.
4. When the original Master module finishes booting, go to NIM and follow
the same procedures as described on the previous two pages for removing
the cluster and reversing the roles of the modules.
Now, the configurations of the two modules will be reversed, but since
the original Master became the Participant when it was booted in step 1
of the process on this page, it will re-acquire the Master configuration
when the configurations are reversed with the cluster removal.
