As shown in Figure 66, with a GRE tunnel established between the multicast routers Router A and Router
B, Router A encapsulates the IPv6 multicast data in unicast IPv6 packets, and forwards them to Router B
across the GRE tunnel through unicast routers. Then, Router B strips off the unicast IPv6 header and
continues to forward the IPv6 multicast data to the receivers.
