ONE-app Activation

Installing a License

This step may be optional, depending on the selected ONE Integrated Appli-

cation. If the application has its own application-specific licensing, there is no

need to apply HP ProCurve’s licensing and activation. To determine if an

activation license should be installed for a ONE Integrated Application, use

the following command:

hostswitch(svcs-mod-C:SvcOS)# boot ONE-app

If this commands executes successfully, an activation license is not needed.

The module is now booted into the ONE-app, and any subsequent reboots will

always boot into the ONE-app.

However, if the above command fails (as indicated by an error message similar

to the following), an activation licence is needed.

Need to install an activation license before starting ONE-app.

If activation is required, an activation license must be applied to the module

to bind the ONE-app to the specific module. Once the activation license has

been validated, the module then boots directly into the ONE-app.

Note If an activation license for a ONE-app is installed on a module, the same license

cannot be installed on a different module. Also, a different ONE-app cannot

be installed on a module that already has an activation license installed for a

ONE-app.

This section describes the steps required to obtain and install the ONE-app

activation license key.

Registration on the HP My ProCurve portal is required to activate ONE-apps

installed on the module. Registration is free. To register, go to

https://my.procurve.com and follow the registration instructions.

The general procedure for ONE-app activation uses several IDs and keys:

■ registration ID — This number comes with the ONE-app, and represents

the customer’s right to activate a ONE-app on a particular type of module.

■ hardware ID — This number identifies the module the ONE-app is

installed on, and includes the module’s serial number and an identifier for

the ONE-app being activated.
