6-18 ProCurve Secure Access 700wl Series Management and Configuration Guide
Configuring the Network
Create or edit Subnets. Creating global subnets through the Global Network page lets you predefine
subnets that will then be available through the Local Network configuration pages for all Access
Controllers in the 700wl Series system.
In many cases, it may not be necessary to do any configuration on the Global Network page. By default,
a subnet group is automatically created for the default (untagged) subnet on each Access Controller,
and the DHCP, DNS and WINS server addresses can be learned from the DHCP server on that subnet.
Subnets can be specified directly on the Access Controllers as part of the process of creating uplink
VLANs, and Subnet Groups will be created automatically to include those subnets.
» To access the Global Network page, click the Network icon in the Navigation Toolbar, then select the
Global Network tab.
The Global Network page appears, as shown in Figure 6-8. From this page you can view a list of Subnet
Groups, or a list of Subnets.

The Subnet Groups Tab
A subnet group is simply a named logical collection of subnets that is maintained in the Access Control
Server. The Subnet Groups tab lists the Subnet Groups currently defined in the system, and shows the
subnets that are members of each group.
Subnet Groups are created automatically when a new subnet is defined under the Local Network page
for an Access Controller.
To create a new Subnet Group click New Subnet Group.
To edit an existing Subnet Group, click the Subnet Group name to open the Edit Subnet Group page.
