Configuring the Network

Local Networks Setup
A Local Network is the set of IP subnets and VLANs that are configured on the uplink of an individual
Access Controller. The Local Network page allows the association of VLAN IDs with IP subnets for
individual Access Controller uplinks.
The Local Networks setup tab is used to specify subnet/IP/VLAN information for each Access
Controller. Each Access Controller will participate in a single untagged uplink subnet, and may also
participate in zero or more uplink VLAN subnets. Each Access Controller must be configured to have
an IP address in each uplink network subnet it is required to participate in. These uplink network
addresses on the Access Controller may be configured statically or via an appropriately provisioned
upstream DHCP server.
When configuring VLAN network information on an Access Controller, the administrator may choose
to associate it with a previously configured Global Subnet and Subnet Group, or leave it as -Auto- to
Field Description
