a unique Connection Profile can be created for the Location, and a unique
Access Policy can be created for the user who matches that Connection
Profile.
The New Location and Edit Location pages have been modified to include a
checkbox and a field where the MAC address may be entered. These pages
are located under the Rights section, under the Connection Profiles tab.
To access the New Location or Edit Location pages, click the Rights icon on
the Navigation Toolbar, select the Connection Profiles tab, then click the
Locations link in the left-hand column, then click New Location (or select a
location to edit).
See “Locations” in Chapter 4 of the ProCurve Secure Access 700wl Series
Management and Configuration Guide (December 2005) for a more detailed
discussion of creating MAC address locations.
Note MAC address locations should be used with caution. MAC addresses can be
spoofed, and a MAC address Location circumvents the 700wl Series’ MAC
Address Spoofing Detection capability.
SSLv3 Support
Software version 4.4.0.50 uses SSLv3 as the protocol for communication with
the Login, Logout, and Stop pages. SSLv3 resolves some of the security issues
with SSL v2 and provides a higher level of security.
Under normal circumstances, this change should be transparent to the user.
However, if for any reason it is necessary to use SSL v2 instead of v3, this can
be accomplished under the SSL tab on the Local Networks page for the Access
Control Server 740wl. The SSL tab may be accessed by clicking the Network
icon on the Navigation Toolbar, clicking the Local Networks tab and selecting
the Access Control Server.
Under the SSL tab, there is a checkbox that disables the use of SSLv3. Note
that the SSL tab appears only for the Access Control Server, and this setting
takes effect globally across the system.
