Management and Configuration Guide Supplement 4.4.0.50

Introduction
sible Authentication Protocol (LEAP) and the Protected Extensible
Authentication Protocol (PEAP). As a proxy server, the built-in
RADIUS server can manage multiple realms, with multiple remote
RADIUS servers working in a failover capacity within each realm.
The 802.1X/WPA Authentication feature also provides an interface for
configuring RADIUS clients (Access Points) that will participate in the
802.1X/WPA authentication.
802.1X/WPA Authentication does not support seamless roaming. Users
roaming between Access Points will be required to logoff and re-logon.
Specification of an external HTTP proxy server per Access Policy.
This allows client traffic to be redirected to the appropriate proxy
server based on the client identity (Identity Profile) or point of entry
to the network (Connection Profile), bypassing the built-in proxy
server in the Access Controller.
An expanded definition of a Location, to include an individual client
device identified by MAC address. This enables user rights to be
determined based on the client device a user is accessing.
Use of SSLv3 for the Login, Logout and Stop pages rather than SSL
v2. There is a configuration setting that will revert this to SSL v2 if
necessary. SSLv3 is enabled by default.
The Access Control Server 740wl now functions as the clock synchro-
nization source for its connected Access Controllers. The Access
Control Server acts as an NTP server, and the Access Controllers act
as NTP clients, synchronizing their clocks to the Access Control
Server.
Important Update Information
The update from software version 4.1.3.93 requires an intermediate update to
4.1.4.4 prior to upgrading to version 4.4.0.50. This is necessary to enable a
downgrade after version 4.4 is installed. If a downgrade becomes necessary,
a downgrade must first be performed to version 4.1.4.4, and then a second
downgrade can be performed to version 4.1.3.93. It is not possible to
downgrade to version 4.1.3.93 from version 4.4.0.50.
