Edge Services xl Module
A 5300xl switch provides support for the Wireless Edge Services xl Module in
three major areas: providing VLANs for network communication, critical for
for radio-port adoption and control; initial Module set up; and Module man-
agement interfaces, These topics are covered in the following sections.

-Downlink Port(<slot-id> DP) is a tagged member.
- Port directly connected to a Radio Port is an untagged member.
Uplink VLANs
- Uplink Port (<slot-id>UP) is a tagged member.
- Uplink Network Port is whatever the network requires.

Note: A Radio Port must first be adopted at Layer 2 before
Layer 3 Adoption can occur if any of the following are needed:
- a Bootloader update
- a change to the default DNS lookup name
- a change to the default username/password for 802.1X
authentication
VLAN for Layer 3 Adoption
- Must be a VLAN with the Wireless Module’s IP Address.
- Internal Module Port (<slot-id>UP or <slot-id> DP)
must be a tagged member.
-May beeither the Uplink or Downlink Port, but
NOT both.
