PCIe Analog Card and Digital Card Installation Instructions for SBM powered by Microsoft Lync 2010-10

2
Installing a Digital PCIe Card
Loosen the retaining screw to remove the cover from the slot.
If an Analog Card is installed in the other PCIe slot, connect the
unconnected end of the FAX Synchronization Cable to the Digital
Card, keeping the red edge closer to the card edge.
Install the Digital card and tighten the retaining screw.
Make sure the card is plugged straight in to the PCIe connector.
Caution: Make sure that the FAX Synchronization Cable is
connected with the red edge of the cable closest to the edge of
the card. Incorrectly connecting this cable can result in the
software being erased from the card.
The Digital Card is now fully installed in the HP Extended Services
zl Module.
Tuck the FAX Synchronization Cable and the wires on the Power
Cable Assembly into the cable clip provided on the HP Extended
Services zl Module.
Caution:
For safe operation, it is important that the wires on the Power Cable
Assembly be tucked into the cable clip.
Caution:
For any PCIe slot in the HP Extended Services zl Module that is not
used, make sure a slot cover is installed to ensure proper cooling of
the module.
This is the front view of the HP Extended Services zl Module after
the PCIe cards are installed. When an Analog or Digital Card is
properly installed, an LED lights up for each port, indicating the
port is powered up.
For analog ports:
Green = The port is an FXS port.
Red = The port is an FXO port.
For the digital port, these LED states are possible:
Red + Green = The card is powered but the port is not started.
Green = the T1/E1 is up and there are no critical alarms.
Red = The port is started but the line is down and there is no data
transfer possible.
If the digital port LED is just red, check to make sure that the PCIe
card and connected device are configured to use the same
framing and line encoding. Check also to make sure that the cable
is OK.
